10. Mark Wahlberg

He starred in Warner Bro’s satirical comedy-drama Three Kings. This film had Wahlberg, George Clooney, Ice Cube and Spike Jonze take the roles of renegade U.S. servicemen in the Persian Gulf during the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War conflict. Wahlberg later on appeared in the movie Perfect Storm then took a lead role in a science fiction film Planet of Apes. In 2003, he appeared with an all-star cast in the crime film, Italian Job.
Other movies he has taken part in include The Departed (earned him an Academy Award Nomination for Best supporting Picture),The Fighter( that also earned him an Academy Award for Best Picture), The Other Guys, Ted, Lone Survivor, Pain and Gain, Transformers: Age of extinction, Deep Water Horizon and Patriots Day.
Mark Wahlberg has experimented with so many but has been known for his action-oriented roles. His ‘tough guy’ persona has earned him roles portraying police officers, military officers and even criminals as seen in the series Shooter.
Apart from acting, Wahlberg has also worked as an executive producer of HBO’s Entourage, Board Walk Empire, How to Make it in America and Ballers which is currently on. His 2017 biggest hit is the drama Deep Water Horizon. The movie dramatizes the worst oil spill in the US history.
His ability to switch roles and handle front and backstage screen jobs makes him one of the top actors in Hollywood.
9. Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler, born in 1966, is best known for his comedic roles. As a teenager, Sandler realized comedy came naturally to him and started doing stand-up gigs. He was discovered when performing and that is how he landed in Saturday Night Live as a cast member, which is where he started his on-screen comedy career.
At this point, Sandler appeared in the comedy film Billy Madison that was commercially successful but did not get a lot of good reviews. It was when he starred in the romantic comedy The Wedding Singer that Sandler received good reviews. He later on appeared in Water Boy, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy and Mr. Deeds; movies that did well and firmed up his career.

Adam Sandler also has a footing in voicing animation films. He has voiced the character ‘Dracula’ in the animation Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2. In the film Zookeeper, he voices a capuchin monkey.
Other movies in which Sandler has been cast include Grown Ups, Just Go with It and Blended that was filmed in South Africa.
In 2017, Sandler stars in the action-packed comedy, The Do-Over, a film where two guys fake their own deaths and start over with two completely new identities. They later find out that their new identities are people with bigger problems than they did. Sandler has appeared in over 50 films and 10 television series.

William Bradley Pitt is currently in the headlines for his personal life but he has a lot to show for acting as well.
Born in 1963, Brad Pitt went to Hollywood after college to pursue his dream in acting. He took small roles in 21 Jump Street and Growing Pains but was first noticed when he made a brief appearance as a cowboy in the movie Thelma and Louise in 1991. He got his first leading roles in the dramas A River Runs through It, Interview with the Vampire and Legends of the Fall where he starred alongside Tom Cruise.
He later made appearances in the crime thriller, Seven and the science fiction film Monkeys, which earned him a Golden Globe Award for best supporting Actor.
His greatest career hits have been Troy (2004), Mr and Mrs Smith (2005), and World War Z (2013). All these films were commercial blockbusters.
Pitt has received nominations and awards in the films The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Money Ball (2011), where he had defining roles. He has also produced films that have won awards such as The Departed (2006) and 12 Years a Slave (2013).
In 2017, Pitt starred in the film, Allied, which is set in a 1942 environment. In the film, he plays a Canadian intelligence officer who encounters a female French Resistance fighter on a mission behind enemy lines. Their relationship is tested by the pressure of war when they return to London.
Bradd Pitt has been referred to as one of the most influential people in the Hollywood scene and cited as the world’s most attractive man by different media sources.
7. Robert Downey Jr
Robert Downey Jr. is well known for roles in a wide variety of films, like, Iron Man, Chaplin, Soap dish and Wonder Boys.
Downey started acting as a young child but made his first film appearance as a cast member on Saturday Night Live.
His first leading role was in The Pick-up Artist (1987), a romantic comedy-but his big break came in 1987 with Less Than Zero (1987), in which he co-starred with Andrew McCarthy.
Downey’s career started to look bright when he was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actor’ category for his role in Chaplin (1992).
More recently, Downey has co-starred with Jamie Foxx in The Soloist (2009). He also appears in Sherlock Holmes (2009). Downey has been cast in superhero roles most of the time. In 2010, he was in the Iron Man franchise and later on made an appearance on The Avengers.

6. Vin Diesel
He was born Mark Sinclair in 1967 and is well known for his role in the Fast and Furious film franchise and the Chronicles of Riddick series. He has specialized in fast-paced dramatic thrillers. He is not only and actor but also a producer, director and screen writer.
Vin Diesel starred in Boiler Room (2000), XXX in 2002, Find Me Guilty in 2006, Multi Facial and Strays.
He also appeared in the sci-fi adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy, a film that grossed around $770 million. He later on starred in The Last Witch Hunter, a project that was not so well received.
At some point, Diesel sought to broaden his character image when he appeared in The Pacifier, a 2005 comedy but later went back to his tough guy image with on-going Fast and Furious editions.
He voice-acted in the Iron Giant in 1999.

5. Ben Affleck
Benjamin Geza Affleck was born in 1972. A celebrated actor in Hollywood, Affleck started out in acting at the age of seven in the film The Dark End of the Street (1979).
He dropped out of college to pursue a career in acting. His first major role was School Ties (1992), which also featured his childhood friend Damon and Brendan Fraser. He later appeared in the film, Dazed and Confused (1993).
Affleck got his break when he appeared in collaboration with Damon in the screenplay Goodwill Hunting, a film about a young math genius. The two won Golden Globe and Academy Awards and this is what put the both of them in the limelight.
After the media coverage that followed this, Affleck landed several leading roles. He co-starred in the blockbuster ‘Armageddon’ (1998) a movie that grossed over $550 million worldwide. He then later got a supporting role in a popular film, Shakespeare in Love, which earned him Academy Awards.
In 2012, Affleck directed, co-produced and acted the film, Argo; a commercial success. This film earned him Golden Globe awards and received Academy Award nominations. After Argo, he starred in the 2013 thriller Runner Runner.
His other notable project is the role he took in Batman v Superman, a film that received mixed reviews, and Gone Girl. In 2017, he starred in The Accountant.
4. Johnny Depp
Born in 1963, Johnny Depp is an award-winning actor who rose to fame after appearing in 21 Jump Street. He is well-known for ‘odd characters’ such as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Depp got his first movie role in 1984 in the film, Nightmare on Elm Street. He later on went to study acting when he got a role in a television show, 21 Jump Street.
Since then, he has starred in many popular films and has been greatly associated with roles that are considered ‘dark’. He has starred in Edward Scissorhands (1990) that grossed for $54M, Sleepy Hollow (1999) and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
His other notable works include roles in Benny & Joon (1993), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination and Gilbert in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993).
He starred in Yoga Hosers in 2017.

Thomas Cruise Mapother was born in 1962. Tom Cruise, as he is professionally known, is said to have given himself a 10-year deadline for career establishment. He therefore left school and went for many auditions, landing some minor roles.
In 1981, he got a small role in the drama, Taps and caught the attention of critics and filmmakers.
Cruise rose to fame in the film, Risky Business (1983) that grossed $65 million. In 1986, he released Legend, which did poorly but later on co-starred in Top Gun, which got him back to glory.
He followed this up with The Color of Money’, Rain Man and Born in the Fourth of July, earning himself Academy Awards.
In 1992, Cruise continued to garner success as he co-starred with Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, a courtroom drama. It grossed $15 million.
Other big commercial projects the actor has worked on are; The Firm (1993), Interview with a Vampire (1994), Mission Impossible (1996), which grossed at $64 million, Jerry McGuire (1996)-directed by Cameron Crowe, Vanilla Sky(2002), Stephen Spielberg’s Minority Report and The Last Samurai, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

2. Matt Damon
Matt Damon was born in 1970. He made his acting debut in Mystic Pizza (1988). He later on starred in ‘The Rainmaker’ (1997) and ‘Goodwill Hunting – a film that gave him his major break.
He later on took up major roles in Saving Private Ryan (1998), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). The $110 million Bourne Ultimatum had the largest opening in movie history, grossing an estimated $70.2 million of business in the United States.
Since then, Damon has acted in a wide range of movies, including Ocean’s Eleven series, The Adjustment Bureau, Behind the Candelabra, The Martian, Invictus (2009), The Departed (2006) and True Grit (2010).

1. Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson started out as a wrestler; The Rock.
He was a very popular wrestler who went into acting and appeared in The Mummy Returns (2001). Johnson put aside his ‘tough guy’ look and tried out comedy, appearing in 2005’s Be Cool with John Travolta and Uma Thurman and 2007’s The Game Plan.
His career in acting picked pace and he continued to make appearances. He got roles in Driver (2010) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013). In 2017, he starred in Hercules.
In 2017, Johnson was on the big screen with Furious Seven and action-packed San Andreas. Proving his versatility, he also debuted in his first dramatic comedy series, Ballers.
Johnson recently partnered with comedian Kevin Hart on Central Intelligence (2017). He also shows up in Jumanji, which is supposed to premier this year.
